With a forecast of W/NW 15/20 knots tending W/SW 20/25 knots it promised to be an interesting day, some might say perfect sailing weather, depends on your point of view.

Division 1. got away to a spinnaker start with some good gusts, and soon disappeared into the outer harbour. Division 2. followed an hour and 4 minutes later, again the spinnakers popped and they were off, all boats enjoyed the long downwind leg to the laid mark near Point Richards 13, a reach across to the Clifton Springs mark and then it was on the wind via the Curlewis mark, Curlewis Pile, through the Hopetoun Channel and around City 2 to the finish.

A bit of a front appeared from the South West with driving rain and strong winds, some said up to 40 knots, but all boats still racing handled the conditions which quickly cleared and it was on to the finish and back to the club house for a drink, sausage, and to tell a few stories.

Thanks to all competitors for coming and supporting our race again.
